9/11 Ethos Pathos Logos

On September 11, 2001, an infamous tragedy occurred. Two planes hijacked by terrorists were flown into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center and caused both towers to collapse along with the people inside. Later, a third hijacked plane crashed into the Pentagon in Washington, Dc. This incident killed thousands and brought America to its lowest of lows. In response, President George W. Bush also uses metaphors when he declares, “Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundations of America” (Bush). Bush appeals to the audience by contrasting the Twin Towers to America, implying that America is not one to fall effortlessly.
