Tex is novel about a young teenager that goes through many things in his childhood, throughout the story he faces through many emotions that S.E Hinton, the author, makes the audience feel empathy and pity for the main character, Tex. She does this by writing the story as if Tex was writing it himself, this gave the audience a direct ‘view’ of what Tex was enduring and feeling, as if his body was telling the audience how he felt. Tex goes through many emotions, something a normal teenager would not ever feel. This includes getting shot, feeling like his father preferred his older brother. Tex had felt so many emotions from confused to sad to angry, when he found out that the man he had thought was his father all his life turned out to being only his older brother’s father. When Pop would not come home for long periods of times, Tex was the only one who trusted and believed in Pop and truly thought that he had not forgotten about his two sons, this strong feeling could be seen in the text, therefore it is believed that Tex is a good son to his ‘father’. …show more content…
