Foster says that that not every book is political just parts of a story are. In the movie A Bug 's Life it’s an analogy about the struggle between the people and government. The grasshoppers represent the government and the ants and other bugs represent the people. Every few months the grasshoppers come to the ant’s colony and demand that the ants to give them food and in return the grasshoppers would “protect” the ants. Sounds a little bit like the government in a way. The people pay taxes and the government in return provides certain services.
