For my Realism piece, I chose Gustave Courbet 's "A Burial At Ornans", it is 10 ' 3 1/3" x 21 ' 9" (3.1 x 6.6m). The painting is an oil on canvas and was finished in 1849. The other painting is "Last supper" by Jacopo Tintoretto. It is oil on canvas, its dimensions are 12 ' x 18 ' 8" (3.7 x 5.7 m), and it was finished in 1594. The "Last Supper" caught my attention because of how he portrays Christ as a symbol of light and hope. I chose the "Burial At Ornans" because in a way it also was a way of saying goodbye one last time to someone everyone cared about. The Burial At Ornans has realistic features because it is about the funeral of Courbet 's grandfather Oudot. He accords ordinary citizens who are dealing with a loss of a loved one,
