The actions of 9/11 and the Red Scare are in fact different. With the Red Scare it was Communism and with 9/11 it was Muslims, basically all Middle Easterners. Even though the date and time of the events are different, in both events men were able to step up and take advantage of fear and hatred to turn it into suspicion and paranoia. During the time of the Red Scare attack, the U.S became afraid that communist especially from Russia and China would spread throughout the modern world. The United States is a Democratic Nation and feared that the spread of communist would be good for the United States or the world.
The attack on Pearl Harbor was in fact a terrorist attack. The Imperial Japanese Navy against the US Naval base. This later led to the US to World War II. (Hanson, V.wnd) After 2 years of their conflict the US begins world war II. The war was belligerent.
In the 1940 's and 1950 's, an anti-Communist movement swept the United States of America. Fueled by the anti-Communist actions of Congress, particularly a Senator from Wisconsin by the name of Joseph McCarthy, the movement escalated and many people lost their jobs as a result of various blacklists. Congressional hearings, both in front of HUAC and McCarthy Senate committee were a study in organized persecution. The actions taken during the "Red Scare" were eventually given the general name McCarthyism. McCarthyism is the practice of making accusations of subversion or treason without proper regard for evidence.
Both these events left the nation in shock and took quite a while for everything to get back to normal. Of course, these events have not been forgotten. It 's just sad how both these events have led to more terrorism acts in the world. We will never forget the tough times this nation has gone through and even if there will be more times this nation will struggle, we the people will be there to try and restore justice. We the people will be there ready to fight back.

In a news article published during the Red Scare, the author describes the Communist red flag as symbolizing “defiance of law, order, and constitutional government. The 9/11 tragedy was a moment where people had their guard up at all times. This was a time where life had strike to reality of time warfare with every person and country. Couldn’t trust no one that came to the U.S. America is the land of the free and the home of the brave, were brave because the generations before us had to face what had happened and to what is going to happen. This had left the buildings torn instantly killing hundreds of many people, getting them stuck in the higher floors. This attack was the worst in America ever since the Pearl Harbor All over our nation saw a major impact of devastation in the face of the September 9, 2001attacks.
The Crucible Fear has effected much of history. Many of these events in history are very similar. One of the biggest examples in history would be The Holocaust. An example would be the Salem witch trails which were depicted in the book The Crucible by Arthur Miller. The Crucible and The Holocaust are related because one person was to blame for the mass hysteria, there was one person in power, fear was used to control the people and many people were wrongly punished.
A date that has gone down infamously in America’s history is the tragic event that occurred on September 11, 2001. This date was a turning point in the world, and many changes could be seen, such as the addition of the TSA in airports and increased security. However, one of the lesser known effects was the sense of fear that was unconsciously instilled within our communities. Today, this fear is represented through our heightened awareness towards terrorism, and the increased distance we tend to place between ourselves and our fellow community members. The attacks on September 11 produced a greater fear of terrorism than ever before. The masterminds responsible for the attacks on September 11 executed a plan that killed about three thousand people. Bin Laden was prompted by his prejudice against the United States, among multiple other reasons. After the attacks, many people showed a simple act of patriotism by flying the American flag.
All of these events demonstrated that al-Qaeda could carry out terrifying attacks thousands of miles away from its base in Afghanistan. Al- qaeda’s leaders did not care about their gruesome actions. In their minds, God was on their side so they could do no wrong. Many people to this day still question our government about the 9/11 attacks and why someone did not take action before it got to this point.
Not only were Americans afraid of another attack, other countries feared that an attack could happen to them as well. The belief that the safety of the American people was as only as strong as the crumbling World Trade Centers, consumed the nation and its allies. Racial tensions with people of middle eastern descent were heightened because of the large fear that another attack stemming from radical Islam would occur. Terrorism before 9/11 was something that the majority of the world would not consider a legitimate fear. Now, the thought “Am I safe here?”
In both events of Pearl Harbor and 9/11 had a damaging effect on our country. We were terrified and frightened for what could happen next. Pearl Harbor occurred on December 7, 1941 at the Hawaiian territory. 9/11 occurred on September 11, 2001 at New York City. The Pearl Harbor attack was caused from a feud we were having with Japan.
