After World War II, the dominant political systems remaining in power was democracy and communism. The rise of communism in the soviet union brought attention to the united states government in the fear that communism would spread around to other countries. The cold war began from the diversions of these two political ideals, but many authors at the time persuaded the people for their support by telling different visions of the cold war. In Soviet Russia, the rising political power was communism and many people were in doubt because it was a new system and they feared it would not work for the country. As the communist party remained in power successfully in Russia, many authors came out to write why communism should be the ideal political system in a country. Nikita S. Khrushchev wrote the article A Peaceful Coexistence in 1959, in which he argued that confrontation with the capitalist in the west will only lead to kaos. The long lasting of the political system showed how influential it can be other countries because after world war II, most countries in Europe became democratic. George F. Kennan was the author A Peaceful Coexistence: a western view, he argued that the west could not coexist with the communist east because one will begin to take over the other. He was an american diplomat and historian, he began to influence the people and the government that the Soviets will eventually began to spread communism and out beat capitalism. Kenan will have a different point of view of the cold war by expressing if the united states does not keep up with soviet Russia then it will begin to get out beaten and fall behind communism.
