A Rhetorical Analysis Of Dr. Zinc's Speech

Recently, the Debating Committee has asked me to attend a talk by Dr. Zinc, and compose a report giving my recommendation as to wether or not he should be invited to speak at our school. I had attended one of his speeches in the public gardens and had been taken aback by his ominous and pessimistic nature of conversation. He had warned the audience of future disasters to come that would ultimately end the world. He spoke of droughts, the world burning up, and deadly diseases. Meanwhile the audience stood entranced, believing every word he said. Dr. Zinc's speech had absolutely no evidence or research to back up his preposterous claims, and there were some details that seemed highly improbable as he even predicted the specific time during which the world would end. Much of his speech seems to be rehearsed and spoke monotonously, as if he were a prophet. Zinc did cause a large panic within his audience, and this must be avoided at all costs with our students as we wish for them to feel safe and comfortable within our school. There could possibly be some students who believe Dr. Zinc's talks, and he very easily took in gullible people. Our students are still young, and their minds impressionable. Dr. Zinc had a most unhealthy effect on his audience, he drew them in and they had become devoid of any rational thought and hung onto his every word, as if dependant on him. His motives seem purely financial, as he demanded 'donations'. Overall, there are some interesting aspects to Dr. Zinc's performances, and I'm sure our students could learn something from it. However, I strongly recommend against inviting this character into our school, his behaviour was eccentric and overdramatic, his appearance was repelling and he had absolutely no evidence to back up his work, making him a completely incompetent role model for our
