While they were time traveling everyone was told to stay on the given path, and not to shoot the animal until told to. They were told this by the safari leader Travis. Travis told them this because if they kill anything or step in the dirt it could change the future. Once everyone was at the location they had to wait for Travis to give them the ok to shoot. When the tyrannosaurus rex started to get into view Eckels started to freak out, and was told to go back to the time machine.
In the book roll of thunder hear me cry on page 129 it mama says “Baby, we have no choice of what color we’re born or who our parents are or whether we’re rich or poor. What we do have is some choice over what we make of our lives once we’re here.” this means that we cannot chose what we look like or what are family do because you cannot change your genes or dna but you can make the most out of your life also your family may not be rich but with a lot of effort you could make yourself rich. The Butterfly Effect refers to the idea that a butterfly's wings might create tiny changes in the atmosphere that may ultimately alter the path of something. So what would happen if you stepped on one back in time? From the story A Sound of Thunder, by Ray Bradbury. The author uses foreshadowing to support the theme that the smallest things can sometimes have the largest impact on the future. In the story, a group of travelers go back in time to when dinosaurs were around to hunt and kill what animals were going to be dead in minutes.
“There are things you can 't back down on, things you gotta take a stand on. But it 's up to you to decide what them things are. You have to demand respect in this world, ain 't nobody just gonna hand it to you. How you carry yourself, what you stand for--that 's how you gain respect. But, little one, ain 't nobody 's respect worth more than your own,” (Taylor, 134).
Here, Eckels takes a step off of the path but the worst part about it is that he stepped on a butterfly. This is a tragic event because that butterfly, through evolution, could theoretically change everything about humans. Although butterflies are known to be tiny and insignificant, this killing of a butterfly will prove to be the worst thing that could have happened, as the loss of the butterfly causes a domino effect of change to history. While Travis, Eckels, and Lesperance are traveling back to present day, Bradbury states ‘Switch on. Let’s go home.’
The storyline tries to make us to think about what is going in the story. The characters need to come up with how they are going to take down the dinosaur. Time traveling can affect many of the characters in certain ways. For example, In Sound of Thunder Eckels accidentally falls off the path which affects the timeline. Eckels learned that there were consequences to what he did.

Ray Bradbury used figurative language to describe the Tyrannosaurus Rex in “A Sound of Thunder. ’’ Ray Bradbury compared the legs to pistons, this means that the Tyrannosaurus Rex has strong legs. He compared it’s eyes to ostrich eggs, this means that the dinosaur has big eyes. He also compared muscles to thick ropes, this means that the dino has big thighs.

All of these themes are prevalent throughout the novel and have a significant impact on both Jimmy and Snowman. Disease, the most prevalent and important theme throughout the book, is used to drive the plotline. Atwood uses disease to show the distinction between the past and the present.

This was the case for Cassie and the Logan children in Roll of Thunder; Hear My Cry, by Mildred Taylor, and Squeaky and her brother Raymond in Raymond’s Run, by Toni Cade Bambara. Cassie and her family are African-American and are living in the South, during the time of segregation. They are still not treated equally and have a much harder life than a white family living near them. The children have to understand how things are and how they have to act in order to cause less trouble.
The Foundation of a Story In “A Sound of Thunder” by Ray Bradbury, the setting is slightly peculiar. The story takes place in the future and the past. It begins and ends in the year 2055 at a time travel hunting business, however, the majority of the story takes place millions of years before, during the time of the dinosaurs. Throughout the story, the setting sets the tone, motivates the characters actions, and leads to the theme.
While the possibility of time travel does seem exciting and wondrous, it also could be risky and dangerous. In Ray Bradbury’s short story, “A Sound of Thunder,” he uses the cause and effect of time travel to support his theme of not all technology brings good to the world. Society is always hungry for new technology and inventions, even at the risk of harm such as changing time. In “A Sound of Thunder”, the story shows that people are so desperate for more thrills and adrenaline rush that they risk changing the future and their own lives just to shoot a dinosaur- even though the only thing they would possibly receive is a picture.
The topic of this assignment is to discuss and analyse what factors affect human behavior and in doing so how human behavior is shaped.
