The character Odysseus/ulysses is bold he uses Dapper Dan and fights for his life dapper Dan is a type of hair gel that he loves. After they escaped the prison, the first thing they did was hide in the woods and go to a nearby convenience store to get 100 cans of Dapper Dan to last him the whole entire trip, and he also proves his boldness by fighting for his life. Some examples are tricking the recording artist for money and helping the fugitive rob the bank. They also get into disguise and trick many of people that they are just regular people. They travel all around the south, Missouri/Mississippi. He travels all around the south looking for his home. On the way home he picks a young black man that was standing on the side of the road out in the middle of nowhere. The man’s name was tommy he is a very good guitar player and has a marvelous voice. He goes with them on the magnificent journey, helping them along the way with all their troubles. He helps them with disguises, the song they sing at the recording station and also by getting money. They meet a lot of people on their journey, some of them are characters that have traits that the book characters have. Another important thing that Ulysses does is he does is trick people and get his ways with people. The whole trip they tricked many people using his canny and kooky way. Early on they tricked a recording artist to record them and get money. They also trick the cops/wardens on where they are and where they are gonna go. It’s crazy but, everybody listens to him, one example is when they were at the convenience store he negotiated the store owner to lower the price for him.He managed to use sly, charm and good looks to get out from all those sticky situations he gets in
