Located at about 26.5333o North and 86.7333o East lies a country which has stood since early 1768. Nepal expands among 56,827 square miles, with flat land in the south, but quite rugged with the Himalayas in the north. Although the country was hit with earthquakes only last year, tourism is one of the main industries in Nepal. Despite devastation, Nepal is filled with unending scenic beauty ("Nepal").
The capital of Nepal, Kathmandu, has a population of over one million. The country as a whole has a total population of 27.8 million and a population density of 197 people per square mile. The life expectancy of the people of Nepal is around 68 years. With a birth rate of 21 births per year and a death rate of only 6 deaths per year, the population is continually growing ("Nepal GDP").

This means that the country is made up of a federation of states, which are all governed by democracy. The people of Nepal are given a say in who runs their country, much like the United States. However, the way this country is led is a little different (info please).
In the United States, the President is considered to be the leader of the government. In some countries, the position is divided into two separate positions. In Nepal, these two positions are Chief of State and Head of Government. The Chief of State has some power, but the country is ultimately ruled by the Head of Government. The current Chief of State is President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, and the Head of Government is Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli ("Nepal”).
As mentioned before, one of the main industries of Nepal is tourism. However, another popular industry is carpet and textiles. Other industries include small rice, jute, sugar, oilseed mills, cigarettes, cement, and brick production.
