Dr. Harris and Classmates, As a counselor, if i'm conducting a psychological test to a client that becomes an issues with my personal theories, I need to put my values and personal ethics to the side. According to ACA Code of ethics "A.4.b. Personal Values Counselors are aware of and avoid imposing their own values, attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors." Therefore, as a counselor I need to put my personal ethics to the side to make sure I do not have a conflict with my client. As a counselor i need to make sure my personal ethics do not affect my clients.
