Aaron Kosminski was Jack the Ripper The question still remains, who was Jack the Ripper? To this day, the mystery of this notorious murderer has been left unsolved. Jack the Ripper was a well known, anonymous killer that was guilty of brutally murdering five women in Whitechapel, London. Aaron Kosminski was one of the many suspects accused of being Jack the Ripper, but the only one who stood out. Kosminski was guilty of being Jack the Ripper due to the DNA testing that was recently proved, his mental state, and his view towards women. These women were considered prostitutes and were all part of the lower class in London. They were presumed to have problems with drinking, “In each homicide, the victim was a prostitute with a reputation of drinking quite heavily” ( FBI ). These five women were considered “high risk”, meaning they were most likely to be victims of such a violent crime such as this one. The five victims that were chosen by Jack the Ripper were: Mary Ann Nichols, Annie Chapman, Elizabeth Stride, Catherine Eddowes, and Mary Jane Kelly. On August 31, 1888, around three thirty in the morning, Mary was found dead. She was the first to be killed of the five canonical victims. Mary was laying on her back, her throat had been severely slashed, and she was disemboweled. The coroner claimed she had only been dead a half an hour before being found. As the killings continued they began to become more gruesome, ending with the murder of Mary Jane Kelly on November 9,1888. She was found laying in her bed, by her landlord’s assistant who was coming to collect the rent; at 1330 Miller’s Court. The body was disemboweled, and was mutilated and skinned.
