Though the war had many people terrified for their lives, their were always some courageous few that gave America the audacity to strive through the fear of the war. Through Abigail Adams, Captain Solomon, and George Washington there were plentiful point of views that anticipated the war. George and Abigail felt the war was horrific and were not fully committed to the thought of war, while captain Solomon was ambitiously anticipating the war. Abigail is fearful of any casualties that follow the could follow the war. Abigail pursues her fear of loss: “How sleep the brave who sink to rest”. Abigail knows that there are great losses that will follow the war. She knows that the war is inevitable but she doesn't like the fact that it will come with so many sacrifices. Knowing that the spirits of the dead were good was not enough for her. There was so much that was lost, like Charlestown. Abigail shows her outlook of the war resolution when she writes, “The loss of Charlestown affects them no more than a drop in a bucket”. Captain Solomon presents his desire to defend the the patriots when he says, “Brothers! Whenever I see your blood running, you will soon find me about to revenge my brothers’ blood”. Captain Solomon is passionate to help his friends as they have to him. Though he may not be as intelligent he does not hesitate to make plans for a war. He devotedly states his methods for the war: “Only to point out to me where your enemies keep, and that is all I shall want to know.” He just wants to know where the enemies are and they will fight in their own indian way. This shows the commitment of him and his tribe have toward the protection of their friends. All in all, Captain Solomon is ambitious to protect the patriots from any bloodshed that might happen in the near
