Alana Cappello Mrs Harris Class #day/month(Write out)/#year Hamlet Essay Defeat and revenge is used many times in Hamlet. the characters act blindly through anger and emotion, rather than through reason. Several characters attempt to lure their enemies into their death for payback for all the vain things they did to each other. In act one Hamlet's revenge creates conflict between the characters Hamlet and Claudius. Hamlet was visited by the ghost of his father. He starts To become much more aware of the death of his brother. The ghost tells this to Hamlet regarding Claudius. “Revenge his foul and most unnatural murder” (Shakespeare, Hamlet, 1,1, 25). This scene is when Hamlet gets introduced to the revenge of the plot that's between Claudius and him. Hamlet wants to make sure the ghost was his father before he kills Claudius. In Act 1 the ghost says “ I am the father's spirit, doomed for a certain term to walk the night and for the day confined to fast in fires till the foul crimes done in my days of nature are burn and and purged away” (Shakespeare, Hamlet, 1, V, 14).
