Sadly, these terrible tragedies also involve adults. One in particular was the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting that occurred on December 14, 2012, in Newtown, Connecticut, where twenty-year-old Adam Lanza fatally shot twenty children and six adult staff members. Nevertheless, reports suggested that Lanza’s mother did not confide any fear of her son to any family or friends and continued to live with guns in her home making them easily accessible to Adam.
