Leadership qualities are qualities that not everyone seems to have. Simon Sinek once stated “Great leaders don’t blame the tools they are given. Great leaders work to sharpen them.” Every leader has different qualities which makes them the type of great leader they are. Leaders don’t possess the qualities of a follower and instead have their own unique quality which makes them a leader. Leadership is when you are in the state of handling and taking order of an organization or group of people. The three great qualities a leader must have and are needed in order to take a leadership position is they know how to manage failures and setbacks, they take responsibility and they know how to communicate. Smith was born on June 5, 1723 in Kirkcaldy, Scotland and died at the age of 67 on July 17, 1790 in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. He received his education at the University of Oxford, University of Glasgow and Burgh School. Throughout his life he has given multiple lectures and published many books. Smith was even given the chance to tutor the future Duke of Buccleuch from 1763 to 1766 where he even traveled with him. Throughout his travelling with the future Duke he met with many such as Benjamin Franklin and a French economist Turgot. Some of the many books that Smith published are the reason why the United States of America has an economy of prosperity. This quote proves how Smith has taken responsibility for tutoring many including a young duke. It shows how Smith wasn’t running away from his responsibility but instead he fulfilled them completely. A great leader should be fulfilling all parts of their responsibility making anything possible for their people and themselves.
