I am sure you have heard the old adage that “You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression”, however, I do have a very strong faith in believing with scripture “With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible” (Matt. 19-26). First and foremost, I did want to thank you for the opportunity to interview for the open administrative assistant position. It was a true privilege to have had a small glimpse of the magnitude of Hobby Lobby’s operations. This is certainly a testimony of gifted leadership and diverse employee talent. Secondly, please allow me a moment to express a continued and very high interest for the position of assistant to the executive director. What is the one personality trait about myself of which is the opposite of what people believe? The answer of “quiet” leaves the interpretation that I am loud. The most accurate response is shy/timid of which the opposite is confident/assertive. This is best described as a reluctant leader type who does not fight for a position, however, once assigned, always rises to the top in providing proven results. Perhaps this is a test of my own humility. A shy first impression is replaced once a delegated role is assigned. I have taken several personality tests throughout my career, and they always point to one who can assume a wide range of responsibilities and manage them well. Lastly, it is my earnest hope and desire that you will allow my application to remain as a top viable candidate. It would be an overwhelming honor to serve in the ranks of one of, if not the top, leading Christian-based companies in America. Please allow this email to be an addendum to my file.
