His name is Adriano, but people called him Doven meaning lazy. Before his adventure, he was a completely different person. He was lazy- he never did anything by himself whether it was eating, school assignments or even walking. Adriano was always provided assistance, whether it was from his mom, his friends or his uncle. He was extremely spoiled- he was the last thing his mother had of his father so she spoon-fed him in everything, never letting him be independent. Lastly, he was kindhearted, but he expressed it in a careless manner. When Adriano was a baby, a terrible war broke out in the village; Adriano's father told his wife to run away with the baby and the other villagers while he fought in the war. Eventually Adriano's father died while saving the life of the villagers so Adriano's mother decided to raise Adriano in such a manner where he would not turn out like his father and go away from her. Due to her wrong way of showing love, Adriano turned out to be a very inattentive and pampered young man.

One day Adriano's father's friend came over to his house after a long journey and told Adriano's mother about how he had travelled to the spot where the war took place. The travellers around the area told him how certain things were being found which belonged to the warriors who fought the war a long time ago. The friend also told Adriano's mother about how the watch that Adriano's father tried to preserve for Adriano could be found if someone goes to look. Adriano's mother wanted to send one of the village boys but after a lot of discussion with the friend, she realized that the watch was too precious for some stranger to handle it and she was too old to go.
