In the Allegory of the Cave, it talks about many complex things that hints to today’s society and how it might be working in a way. But in this quote listed above, I believe is to be one of the more important ones. From what I understand of it, it talks about how adult-like figures are placed in our lives at a young age. These figures are supposed to teach us what is good in the world and what is bad, what we are supposed to do and what we are not supposed to do. But what the young people do not know is, the world is not exactly how the figures say it is. As we grow older, we start to experience the world for ourselves and we tend to get a different stance of how the world is that isn’t quite the same as we were taught prior to becoming older. We experience different situations from others and not all people have the same point of view. But I will say that some views can be the same as what we were taught. It even says in the quote itself, “…certain professors of education must be wrong when they say that they can put a knowledge into the soul…” (26). You cannot always put knowledge into someone who might not understand what you are teaching unless they experience it for themselves. Many people are caught up in a world where they just live by how they were told they were supposed to live and they never live it the way they want to, much like the prisoners in the story. Then you have your people that experience life and these people tend to be the ones that have more education in a way of living and a perception of how the world really
