The industrial revolution impacted the world in many ways, leaving improvements and changes to our world. It is known as a period of time, from 1760 to around 1830, in which the production of goods and services moved from home to businesses and industries, hand crafted goods were made using machines, and many more that still exist today. One of the biggest impacts of the industrial revolution was the working conditions in factories. There is so much to say about this topic, both positive and negative. The working conditions were terrible in the factories with young children doing the labor, long hours with short breaks, and even abuse.
People died from common sickness like the flu because they lacked medication and health care. Toilets were only able to be flushed once a day, which was bad for the health of the citizen’s and just disgusting. Since everyone was so jam-packed and crowded, crime rates increased tremendously. Tenements lacked running water, electricity, proper ventilation and indoor plumbing. These buildings had no windows.
Effects of the Industrial Revolution The Industrial Revolution was an important event in history. It brought about many positives during its time. For instance, kids were well fed, educated, and clothed. There were plenty of negatives, as well. One very sad example was the machine injuries that happened to both children and adults.
During the late 18th through the19th century, the industrial revolution created many changes in regards to labor. Many people of the working class were affected positively in the way of new jobs, better quality products, and quality of life (Doc3, Doc4, Doc 5). While others lost family or experienced a decrease in the quality of life (Doc1, Doc2, Doc7). Some workers soon became dependent on technological machinery (Doc 6, Doc 8, Doc 9). Many workers lives during The Industrial Revolution were changed for the positive as many people such as children had a chance to enrich their lives because they were given a purpose (Doc 3).
The Industrial Revolution was a period of great adaptation in manufacturing technology that lasted from about the year 1760 to 1900. It brought about much change, both for the better and the worse. The Industrial Revolution was more negative than positive for Europeans in the 19th century. For much of the Industrial Revolution, working conditions were unhealthy and dangerous for the low-skilled workers and living conditions in the city were unhealthy and unsafe. However, over the course of one-hundred years, the quality of life improved.
Imagine you were a factory worker, waking up at 4am to get ready for a 17+ hour day. The working environment was unsafe and the only concern of those running the factory was the productivity of the facility. There was absolutely no concern for the wellbeing of the workers. Hard work was rewarded each week with very low pay, which only allowed an individual to afford a small, crowded home with little furnishings. This was the typical life of a factory worker during the Industrial Revolution.
Industrial Revolution Essay The advent of the industrial revolution affected workers in many ways, some good but mostly bad. The age of industry brought with it changes in class structure. Workers were over worked, not fed enough, and had little to no health benefits. Some workers during the Industrial Revolution worked so hard that they often had to quit work and in most cases died.

The industrial revolution increased steel production which allowed the US to make a profit from trading and use the steel to improve transportation, farming and buildings. Industrial cities had many factories that burned coal which caused air pollution and increased steel production led to increased coal usage. Workers in the factories had dangerous, long work hours that they couldn’t protest. The industrial revolution had a large impact on working conditions at the time. Workers had to sign a yellow dog contract which prevented them from protesting unfair treatment and limited their freedom of speech.
The Industrial Revolution was one of the most influential periods of our modern history. This revolution gave people the power of faster, quicker and cheaper ways of life. Since the launch of the revolution, we have formed mass production of goods, easier ways of transportation, and economic growth. While some believe that industrialization had primarily a positive consequence for society because of the mass exports of goods around the world, it was actually a negative thing for society. Something that was good about the industrial revolution was that there was more workers and people could get payed more. Things that were bad was that little kids could. That’s bad because kid get hurt for example, for kids who worked on farms would ride on horse rakes and easily fall off and get crushed. Kids would get overworked after working 12 hours a day.
The Industrial Revolution witnessed the evolution of large urban centers, such as Boston and New York City. It changed society from agrarian to mechanical, which further moved jobs to larger cities. As every coin has two sides, there are negative sides to this. Primarily, it caused severe pollution. The environment condition was bad with smokes surrounding them.
Life During the Second Industrial Revolution Imagine working in a dangerous dingy factory all day and then going home to small room you call your home with just a small paycheck in your pocket. For the working class this was the case in the Second Industrial Revolution. Technological innovations helped spark the Second Industrial Revolution, and made life a little bit easier. However, living conditions and work were still as horrid as it was in the first industrial revolution. Labor unions soon started popping up to fight for better pay and shorter days for the poor.
