In this essay I will discuss how visual media is more important than audio media. The Modern world has become more visualized in every aspect due to the high influence in media. 90% of information transmitted to the brain is visual. Some people may perceive the use of visual media to be very costly. The use of all the different software such as Adobe Photoshop, AfterEffects etc. can be very expensive. Large companies and organizations use maps; diagrams and charts to convey their message which can be rather uneconomical in the long run as people have to be employed to carry out these tasks and also yet again the use of expensive high tech software. Often people can make their point more complex with the over use of visual media. This results in the receivers unable to understand the meaning of the message. A major disadvantage of the use of visual media is the emotional manipulation. This can often be seen as an advantage however; in my opinion it’s a disadvantage. For example when a television advert uses visual media that clouds a viewer’s judgment to convince people to sign up to their website, product etc. and pay money to use it even though it is useless to them and the consumer is only being ripped off and manipulated so the company can make money.
