Hardship.Distressing.Trouble. All those are words that describe Adversity. Overcoming adversity is essential for us to live. If we do not overcome if we can not live. “Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which in prosperous circumstances would have lain dormant”-Horace. This quote signifies that when we are faced with Overcoming adversity, no matter how hard is indispensable to the configuration of our character, the structure for perseverance and engender an affirmative attitude.
Developing and constructing your character results from being able to overcome obstacles, and this happens to everyone either intentionally or unintentionally. When this happens it is usually for the better, like when Cole is sent to the island in Touching

The obstacles he was faced with were tough but he progressed from the erstwhile adolescent to a supplementary rendering of himself. By overcoming adversity Cole augmented himself entirely just like when Chick Benetto comes back from his day with his mom in the book For One More Day. Before Chick sees his mom again, due to his alcohol addiction Chick loses his inducement to keep living; as a result he also losses he family. He promptly tries to commit suicide. Both getting in a car crash and jumping off a water tower do not kill him. It is in seeing his mom and getting over the obstacle of losing her years ago he realizes the error of his choices. Chick realized that even though life does not go the way he wanted it and he had to overcome many impediments, in the end, he made himself a better person and overcoming those challenges that hindered him, he established himself in a new way. All the struggle he went through helped him to strengthen and build his character. Before the journey with his mom, he was a broken man, filled with sorrow and regret. It directs the actions you take, your energy and most of all your thoughts. Life will show up for you according to how you think it is; and if you regularly maintain the belief that life has a consignment of enjoyable things you will find and see them. Do you think Oprah Winfrey would have gotten to where she is now without a positive mindset? I think not. She came from poverty to one of the world’s wealthiest women all because she is one of the biggest believers and supporters of a positive mindset. She imagined success and constantly believed in it and the positive mindset helped her get to where she is now. Just like Oprah on a less superior scale, school is a suitable example of a positive attitude. A test can be used; if you go into the test doubting yourself, you will fill your head with uncertainty and will most likely stress yourself over every question. When you do that you deteriorate your chances of doing good, and reinforce your chances of doing worse; but in the situation where you go into the test thinking you will do good, you most likely will do
