As once said by the Roman poet Horace, “Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which in prosperous circumstances would have lain dormant.” I agree with this because in many of the books and movies I have watched or read they have this general idea flowing through it all. This is saying that when people face a challenge and they are put in a corner, the push through and find a way. However, when they are just living normal life they tend not to have the same skills. It's kind of like when someone has adrenaline pumping through them they can achieve things much better than normal. When people do something they are used to do or don't normally do, like skydiving from a plane; they start to get an adrenaline reaction. With adrenaline coursing through them their skills and senses begin working double time. They can do scary or dangerous things without being afraid of it and accomplish the task. Adrenaline is defined as a hormone secreted by the adrenal glands, especially in conditions of stress, increasing rates of blood circulation, breathing, and carbohydrate metabolism and preparing muscles for exertion. They are changing the way that they survive in the world to stay alive. When prey gets bigger and they become predator you must learn to survive a new danger, unless you can evolve to be better than that animal. This shows that Horace was correct because it has been happening for millions of years on the earth's surface. However just like the need to survive there are also times of prosper where animals don't need to evolve to live. In these times just like Horace said, the need of evolution is lying dormant in every animal. Just as in the jungle the tiger needs not to become better when it can attack and kill all
