I am reaching out to you in order to give my input in a major issue in our state and nation. As a high school student who will be attending college next year, I have grown interested in the college a acceptance and employment process.The use of Affirmative Action in Pennsylvania and the United States has detrimental effects on our community, is an unfair way to give benefits to minority groups while taking away deserving individuals and is a war zone for discrimination lawsuits. For these reasons I believe that Affirmative Action should be discouraged from the public college admissions process, and be replaced with unbiased means of understanding the success and experiences of an applicant.

Pennsylvania is composed of 82% white, 12% black and rough 3.5% Asian populations; while the college enrollment in Pennsylvania is 77% white, 11% black while also being nearly 60% female. Taking this into account, is it clear that enrollment is proportionally fairly proportionate to the population . Considerably, white males are the least likely to enroll into a higher education compared to the population of the state despite the effects of reverse discrimination. Nearly 25% of Pennsylvania’s public school say that they use race and nationality as a factor of acceptance( using the guidelines of Affirmative Action ). Ranging from Kutztown, West Chester and Millersville, Lock Haven reported using race and nationality as an “important consideration” for accepting a student. All schools that many peers of mine look to as affordable goal schools. Universities should be more focused on improving their level of academia and rigor rather than buffing a diversity
