Affordable Ford’s In 2017 the Ford Motor Company was considered the most valuable American car brand, earning a little less than 150 billion dollars Henry Ford was a wise businessman and the founder of The Ford Motor Company. He was the creator of the Ford Model T which was one of the first affordable American cars. Henry Ford is a revolutionary figure in America because he changed how industrial factories were run and how America traveled. Ford perfected the assembly line for car production. He was able to improve the way assembly lines worked which allowed his factory workers to build more cars in one day. “The production time for a single car dropped from over 12 hours to just 93 minutes due to the introduction of the assembly line. Ford’s 1914 production rate of 308,162 eclipsed the number of cars produced by all other automobile manufacturers combined”(Goss 3). Each worker was trained to be an expert in one task which meant they became faster at their one task. Originally, workers were paid $2.50 daily, however, because Ford was selling so many affordable cars he was able to take his profits and increase the wage of his workers to $5 daily, this wage was unheard of. “Not only did he put America on wheels he changed the way businessmen priced their products and paid their workers” (Folsom 6). The workers were thankful for their pay which meant they were absent less and rarely quit. Ford did not have to waste money on training the workers because they were happy with their job.
