Social Media has a great impact in the portray of certain racial group , especially with the African American , this is an issue since the times of slavery in America , where Blacks were presented as servant , ignorant and dangers which have been seeing with the Jim Crow that was a characterization of a African American by a white actor. “Jim Crow” laws at the local and state levels barred them from classrooms and bathrooms, from theaters and train cars, from juries and legislatures. Social Media has the power to shared information not only in America but through the world in seconds.
The images of the Black Community for the world is more negative than positive, Blacks males are showing as a drug dealers, uneducated, unemployed, living in poverty, ghettos, violence’s and also less beautiful and with a low self teem in comparison with other racial groups, that images goes around easily through the media the world portraying only the negative images of the Black Community, leaving out the positive about African American. It’s important to make some changes and follow the ideology of the Black activist to change that image.
Its imperative to support African Americans professionals that have showing a good and positive influences such as Artists, athletes, educators, doctors , lawyers , shared in Social Media the Black Community that is out there trying to better their life, working hard to support their families.
