Valley Forge was a base winter camp located next to Pennsylvania. George Washington helped out and taught the soldiers how to use guns and fight battles. I am going to leave Valley Forge because the quality of this camp is horrible. (DOC A) There was a very high percentage of soldiers who died of illness because they did not cure any illnesses.
The San Antonio Spurs The San Antonio Spurs were founded in 1967 by Irving Allen Mathews. They were originally named the Dallas Chaparrals, then the Texas Chaparrals, which both played in the ABA, but then were changed to the San Antonio Spurs in 1973 and joined the NBA in 1976. Now the Spurs are one of of the best, if not the best, basketball franchises ever. I think that they are the best because of their consistency of winning.
Historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) are institutions of higher education in the United States founded primarily for the education of African Americans. Prior to the mid-1960s, HBCUs were virtually the only institutions open to African Americans due to the vast majority of predominantly white institutions prohibiting qualified African Americans from acceptance during the time of segregation. As such, they are institutional products of an era of discrimination and socially constructed racism against African Americans (Joseph, 2013). Successfully, millions of students have been educated in spite of limited resources, public contempt, accreditation violations, and legislative issues. The purpose of this research paper is to discuss
The Iowa State Fair is the most influential events throughout the state of Iowa during the month of August. This is a place where one can go to experience shows, art, food, and see livestock from all around the country. Most people however, go to this fair simply to have fun. On my visit to the Iowa State Fair in the previous summer, tasting all of the different foods, quality of the rides and the positive attitude from the carnival workers highly encourages me to come back year after year.
One stormy night the Ravenel Family were sitting at the dining table. Kelly, my mom, Jordan my sister, Dave my dad, and me of course. All you could hear the tree 's branches hitting the window, the wind howling to the beat of the rain. There with all that music my parents were whispering very nervously. Then suddenly, the light started flickering, the room darkened nothing was heard but the trees, the wind, and rain.
What is the significance of spirit week in school? Spirit week is a week where each day is themed, so that everybody/ anybody can dress up and show off their pride for their school. There are days like pajama day, retro day and also identical twin day that students as well as teachers and staff can dress up to get points for their class. Spirit week allows students to express their creativity, show their pride for their school and have an entertaining week. It is for those three reasons that spirit week should still be included in the school year.

The din clattering of the party slowly ceased and the noise stopped. A small ringing in my ears was the only thing that I could hear, and then zilch. I relaxed into the mattress of my bed and closed my eyes, happy I now had some peace and quiet. But as they say, silence is deafening. Although that 's true, my conscience slowly slipped away and I fell into a deep slumber.
The sky was dark almost pitch black, the roads were filled with rain. The rain ran down the trees as if they were crying. It seemed that they knew of the lightings vicious plan to hurt one of their neighboring trees. The thunder that morning boomed loudly making it seem as if the sky was cracking.
It was a crisp winters evening in Alaska. It was that time of the season in early February where there was barely any frost but simply cold biting air in what felt like an entirely empty atmosphere. Tony Rogers strolled down the empty dark streets; his tall dark silhouette cast shadows to the ground from the faux amber glow of streetlights. Every breath he took formed swirls of mist with every exhalation and he decided to put his exposed bare hands into the pockets of trench coat for warmth. His footsteps echoed up and down all around him only to be interrupted by the seldom hum of speeding taxis passing by.
By the time I actually fell asleep, it was morning. When I next looked outside, the ground was struggling to get rid of all the water. I remember running outside, but I was stuck on the deck; there was too much water. The
Is the Appalachian region really a unique culture? If one is arguing from a geography paradigm, the Appalachian Mountains are 1,500 miles across North American, from Quebec, Canada to northern Alabama. In total, 13 states are part of the Appalachian Mountain range (Pollard, 2003). If one looks at the culture from this point-of-view, then there really is no unique culture geography. Lewis and Billings (1997) discussed in the 1960s social scientists, which was funded by the government, were trying to enmesh the Appalachian culture to the rest of the United States; this plan was called “cultural modernization.”
He thought he even heard the sound of hushed voices seeping into the night air out of a half-cracked window. The vehicle passed and darkness returned, save for the ever present yellow glow of the damnable streetlight. Philip lay in bed, riveted. Was this it? he wondered.
In school ball it’s mostly just fun and games but if “the games” have a more important meaning, than a higher level of basketball is something to think about. For a more competitive atmosphere, AAU basketball would be the way to go rather than school ball because of the players, overall atmosphere, and the practices. When assigned to defend one specific player I know that it’s one of the more important and better girls on the team. But how does coach know who for me to guard before the games even start? Simple.
It was perfect weather, not hot enough to sweat and not cool enough for a jacket. The sky was nearly black but I could still see radical shades of orange, purple, and pink in the far distance. The dark ocean water was beginning to move rougher and rise higher while white lightning crackled over it. I could hear the thunder rumbling as our family stood out on the shoreline waiting for the storm to brew. I remember Aaron looked down at me and said almost out of the blue, “You know what Alissa?
