Inmates praise Vickie Lee Roach as she regains their right to vote Roach’s right to vote was infringed due to the 2006 amendments to commonwealth electoral act 1918 (cmwth act) which states that any prisoner serving a full time sentence at any length. The legislation breached her constitutional rights to vote. The constitutional phrase parliament is ‘directly chosen by the people’ implies the right to Australian citizens to vote and states only those that don’t have the mental capacity are exempt, and despite so, Vickie Lee Roach and all prisoners were still denied the right to vote Roach wasn’t pressured into this case by anyone but herself as she has legal standing due to being directly affected by it.
The prosecutor of the case had argued that Cyntoia should receive life without parole due to the severity of the case. She is serving her sentence at the Tennessee Prison for Women. Cyntoia’s life in prison was particularly harsh due to the fact that she was in an adult penitentiary when she was only 16 years old. She wa involved in harsh activity with other prisoners and dealt with the harsh reality of prison life. When Cyntoia gets out, if she gets out, she will have to readjust to a normal life because she is coming from a prison life because she will live the majority of her life in prison.

They were seen as hero’s to some, always correcting behavior and following a strict line. The public really liked the way they ran the system, always speaking publically to ensure safety and ease for kids who are lost.
On June 2011, Dave Holloway filed a petition with the Alabama courts seeking to have his daughter declared legally dead. His former wife opposed the petition. A hearing was held on September 23, 2011, during which Probate Judge Alan King ruled Dave Holloway had met the requirements for a legal presumption of death. On January 12, 2012, a second hearing was held, after which Judge King signed the order declaring Natalee Holloway to be dead (Disappearance of Natalee Holloway, 2015). Ten years after Natalee Holloway went missing, a Dutch citizen came forward and claimed he knew where to find her.
The case of Cyntoia Brown is about an innocent victim, who had been punished for finding the courage to fight against the ones who had hurt her. This situation sparked an altercation between the African-American men on the train and a few other white males. After being taken into custody, the Black men were not given the right to counsel upon request, and initially (besides one individual) sentenced to death. Facts: in Scottsboro, Alabama during the year 1932, nine young African-American males better known today as the Scottsboro Boys proceeded to board an empty train that was preparing to travel through Alabama.

If the court were to give him treatment and rehabilitation, Stanford would have spent countless years in prison and rehabilitation centers. The rehabilitation process would have taken many more years than Stanford’s initial sentence, which was a total of forty five years and the death penalty, and would have included thousands of therapy like sessions to somehow prove that a person as insane as him was able to go back into the world as a normal United States citizen. Although some people might argue that Shirley Chisholm does not demonstrate leadership qualities, a closer examination proves that the former congresswoman was a strong leader because of her independence, perseverance,and willingness to take risks. Shirley Chisholm is a great leader because she blazed a trail by being the first African American Congresswoman. For example, “Chisholm indulged her maverick nature in a spectacular gesture. She became the first black woman to run for president” (Morin pg1).This proves that she was the first black individual in her field to run for president so this makes her a trailblazer because all leaders should possess this for the reason that no leader can lead from behind.
The Equal Justice Initiative set up by Bryan Stevenson has brought about many changes to the court system and the lives of many people. Stevenson has represented many different people, the majority of which were on death row for unjust reasons. Herbert Richardson, a Vietnam veteran with mental disabilities, was sentenced to death row after a bomb he made accidentally went off killing a child. Another man named Avery Jenkins, a man born with mental disabilities, stabbed a man to death believing the man was a demon trying to kill Avery. Although these cases have similarities and differences, they both show how flawed the judicial system is.
