Research Paper I chose air pressure for my science fair project. Air pressure is all of the weight of the atmosphere pressing onto the earth. The force is molecules colliding with each other and other things, such as your arm, the ground, or even a tree. The air molecules are constantly bouncing off each other and everything else around them. When the molecules are spread out, the air pressure is low, and when the molecules air packed tightly, the air pressure is high. In cold temperatures the air contracts, because there is more space between the molecules. When there are warm temperatures the air pressure decreases and density will also decrease. This happens because the air molecules are in motion and as they move faster they start to …show more content…

Evangelista was an Italian physicist and a mathematician. He discovered air pressure in the 17th century. He was born on October 15th and died on October 25th. Evangelista was also the scientist who created the mercury barometer. Since he discovered air pressure this led to the invention of the mercury barometer. Which is an invention that measures air pressure. Air pressure is used for predicting the weather and blowing up tires. Since Evangelista has been studied by other scientists. People learned that air pressure helps predict the weather by using the mercury barometer. The mercury barometer measures the air pressure as either low or high. Low air pressure indicates “poor” weather and high air pressure is “good” weather. We also learned that we can use other tools to measure air pressure in tires. Also by discovering air pressure, this led to meteorology. A man named Galileo Galilei was an Italian polymath. Galilei created a thermoscope. A thermoscope is a device that measures temperature. This is the era of the first recorded meteorological …show more content…

These jets are lighter, more fuel efficient, and more aerodynamically engineered than the previous generations of commercial aircraft. These jets are also designed to mitigate jet lag. The A350 XWB boasts a few key innovations that target the disagreeable consequences of long flights, from new lighting systems to different construction materials. The A350 XWB is outfitted with LED lighting that changes color temperature during the flight. People also have found that changes in air pressure and low humidity is the cause of the ill-effects of jet lag. But the A350 XWB has found a way to solve this problem. Guns have a lot to do with air pressure, such as the fact that you need the pressure of the air to force the bullet out. T will be talking about one specific type of gun, called the torpedo gun, commonly called the dynalite gun. This gun was introduced by Edmund L. G. Zalinski, he attached a wide attention in military circles within a few years. The dynamite gun can shoot at a maximum range of 6,000 yards. That’s not a typo, this gun is that powerful! The actuating air pressure in 1,000 pounds or less to the square inch. The storage pressure is 2,000 pounds or less to the square inch. The dynamite gun is capable of throwing projectile containing 50, 100, 200, or 500 of high explosives. The pressure of air does not increase as the projectile moves along the bore of the gun. The bore of the gun is the inside of the
