Capone was safe some trouble because he had a relationship with the mayor of Chicago, and the police meaning that he had connections. Other gangs had ruined Chicago’s image while dealing with Capone, therefore making the city want to redirect, and gain back their good image. The authorities were now set on taking Al Capone down, but when they knew he was never going to get caught it became difficult. They came in another direction, and got him for tax evasion, and this was the start of finally getting rid of him. The judge used evidence from Al Capone’s receipts of trying to pay the government back what he owed, so he plead “Not guilty” reducing his sentencing.

Under Torino's guidance, Capone rose through the ranks and became known as a ruthless enforcer for the gang. He was involved in many crimes ranging from bootlegging to prostitution. In 1920, the prohibition was set in place and a new business venture was opened for Al Capone. He began bootlegging and quickly became known as one of the most powerful bootleggers in Chicago.
During the 1920’s gang related crime was a serious issue. The leader of all this violence and corruption was a man named Al “Scarface” Capone (“Al Capone”). This organized crime, dehumanization, and corruption, became the ultimate image of Chicago for people throughout the world. He was largely immersed in things like gambling, prostitution, and the illegal sale of liquor. He was not convicted for any of his crimes, even the St. Valentine's Day massacre of 1929, until he was imprisoned for tax evasion (Horan).
The plan was to get a bootlegger to lure Bugs Moran and his gang to a back alley where Capone 's men would dress like police officers and take the gangs guns then open fire and kill everyone. Just one small hiccup. Bugs Moran saw the Cop car before anyone else and ran away before capone 's men could kill him. Capone being smart planned his vacation and left when this was happening but the police and the media knew it was his planning. This made Capone famous.
