During slavery, African Americans were treated as possessions in the same way that livestock were regarded as possessions. The hog symbolizes the awful, dehumanizing thinking behind slavery. In Jefferson’s trial, his defense attorney refers to him as a hog, “Gentlemen of jury...put a hog in the electric chair” (Gaines 15-16). A hog symbolizes how the whites in the community treated the blacks and how they think about them socially. A hog is a filthy animal, which in the time period of the 1940’s is how most whites viewed blacks, and believed that blacks were good for nothing but to work for the whites.
The Pigs selling Boxer to a slaughterhouse shows that they don’t really value the other animals on the farms lives. They knew Boxer was getting old and couldn’t do much so they sold him. They also began drinking beer and getting drunk like Jones did.
The book “The Pigman” written by Paul Zindel, Is a well written book that has different techniques that makes the story better. Animals have always played a pivotal role in societies throughout the past. Some communities praise animals, while others use them as a symbol of wealth, and some sectors own animals merely as companions. Throughout the article “The Case Against Pets” Francione and Charlton (2015) argue that animals must not be property, and consequently need to gain basic animal rights. As law professors at Rutgers University, and publishers of a book about animal rights, the author’s viewpoints and research are held credible. Nevertheless, despite their arguments being supported by validated and reliable evidence, both authors are biased towards their viewpoints.
There are 3 types of people in society, the sheep, the sheepdog, and the wolf. The sheep have the most influence because they make up the lion share of the population. The sheep dog’s job is to protect the sheep and the wolf preys on the sheep. The sheep cannot distinguish between the wolf and the sheepdog because they both have K-9 teeth. However, the wolf’s message is more alluring than the forewarnings of the sheepdog.

Piggy is a innocent boy who tries to be rescued and often gets bullied for his physical appearance. After Simon is murdered nobody is scared or felt bad except Piggy. When Ralph tries to tell Piggy they committed murder he says: “I’m frightened. Of us. I want to go home.
Abraham Lincoln is a better leader than the pigs. The pigs are murderers, liars, evil, and money /power hungry. Abraham Lincoln is a great president, self educated, wise, and a great speaker. Lincoln wants to make America great, make everyone equal, and be treateded the same. Unlike the pigs in Animal Farm, Abraham Lincoln embodies the characteristics of a strong leader because he/she symbols honesty, loving, and care.
I’m defending Mary in the short story, “The Lamb to Slaughter,” written by Roald Dahl. I am pleading for my client, Mary who is not guilty in the murder of Mr. Maloney. Mary would have never murder her husband, because she is six months pregnant. She couldn’t lift the heavy weapon used to kill him while carrying a baby. Mrs. Maloney was at the neighborhood grocery store at the same time the murder happened.
But since the Pig acted fast and threw him an apple, he yet again escaped from the Wolf. Additionally, the third Pig can be admired as he was bold apart from the pigs. The Wolf had assumed that all the pigs were foolish and would be easy to take advantage
The show went smoothly and our joint effort in pig related entertainment was a success, and even received a standing ovation from the rodeo audience. The conduct of one of your employees after the show wasn’t so enjoyable. While me and my team were packing up our equipment getting ready to leave that event, one of your employees came up to us, clearly intoxicated and demanded an apology but didn’t specify as to what. When your employee didn’t get the reaction from my team he wanted, he attacked one of my team and did quite a bit of damage before we could separate the two. I didn’t get the name of the pig who attacked my employee before he ran off.
Power can have the persuasive action in undoing the moral ethics of one’s character. This can be seen throughout history, such as World War II and proven by the actions of Napoleon in the allegory, Animal Farm, by George Orwell. As Lord Acton said “Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” In history what was viewed as a villain, is never the same as the perception. A leader does not begin wanting to do wrong, they start with the best intentions, but power is a tricky thing.
The Lamb to the Slaughter is a mystery horror story by Roald Dahl. It is about a wife (Mary Maloney) murdering her drunk husband (Patrick Maloney) after he gives her short answers when she asks him questions. She hits him over the head with a leg of lamb to kill him. A theme I see is change and when something bad happens. You can drastically change in life.
Mary Maloney was sitting in her living room when her husband, Patrick Maloney, came home. This was the premises of the short story, “Lamb to the Slaughter,” composed by Roald Dahl. Patrick was a police officer; his wife stayed at home, which was typical for the 1950s, which was the time period of the story. The couple had been, so it seemed, happy throughout their marriage. In fact, Mary was pregnant with a baby boy.
Jaewon Shim Ms. Manning English 9B 06 February 2015 Animal Farm Analytical Essay "Orwellian" is an adjective that describes the condition of the society that George Orwell identified as being destructive to the welfare of a free and open society. The adjective suggests an attitude that is controlled by propaganda, the denial of truth, and manipulation of the past. In George Orwell’s novel, Animal Farm, George Orwell develops his ideas about the Russian Revolution through a highly satirical story written in the form of a fable. The characters represent actual people in history during the Russian Revolution, which took place in the years between 1917 to 1944, as it talks about a story of a farm rebelling against a human owner and establishes their own way of running the farm, which was effected by Old Major’s speech who talked about a society where all workers led the society, with no actual leader. However, imbalance of power occur as the pigs, who are the smartest of the animals gain influence by supervising other animals to work.
