Alice Paul is one of the Nobel Prize winners who did everything in her power to get women their rights and their freedom. She put endless amounts of sacrifices, motivation, and life experiences to help women around her fight for what was right even if it meant years and years of this. She never gave up when times were tough even if it meant her own life, she fought till the very end. She worked hard every day, coming up with new ideas to get the point across and for the 19th Amendment to be passed. Despite with what happened to her and what she had to go through she continued to do what was right earning her place in the Nobel Prize. Alice Paul life experiences helped her pass the 19th amendment right and what to do so it would passed. For example, “...took her daughter to her first suffrage meeting when she was just a child.” (How long must we wait) From a young age, Alice learned about suffrage very early on helping her to fight to get women their rights. Also, “Cells were small, dark, and unsanitary. Food was infested with mealworms. Prisoners were routinely harassed and intimidated.” (Alice Paul) She and her followers had to go through so much just for believing women should have their rights, that they go through the most horrible things. Finally, “Paul was moved to a psychiatric ward where she was monitored day and night by an attendant holding a flashlight to her face.” (Alice Paul) Alice was put through so much abuse but still stayed strong and continued to fight for what was right to her.
