Topic: Should all states require motorcyclists and passengers to wear helmets?
All states should require helmets due to about 40% are effective in preventing fatal injuries to motorcycle drivers and passengers. Why do helmets save lives across the United States? If there are several accidents from people driving motorcycle’s and people dying, why are we still creating and building motorcycles? Will all 50 states ever come to an agreement to have passengers wearing helmets? What can we do to prevent accidents on motorcycles? Motorcycles are less sturdy than a four-wheeled vehicle such as a car or truck, including a passenger vehicle that can’t provide protection when people are in crashes. The motorcyclist, which is a daily operator of the vehicle. The driver who has never been a motorcyclist. Last the driver who has previously been a motorcyclist that isn’t anymore. The motorcyclist that is a daily driver has a difficult task of operating his/her vehicle every day. They have the biggest task on the highway, which is being a very defensive driver. Motorcyclist must continuously drive for all the other drivers on the road. Looking through the mirrors and checking their surroundings, they must watch every vehicle move to ensure their own safety always to avoid accidents and be safe. It is enjoyable but risky to all motorcyclist. The driver who has never been a motorcyclist doesn’t understand motorcyclist, have the respect for them, or see them. The non-motorcyclist is accustomed mainly to four-wheeled vehicles such as cars and trucks, therefore that is all that they see when on the road operating a vehicle. When sharing the road with a motorcyclist, most accidents occur mainly because before merging into other lanes shared by motorcycles. Non-drivers usually don’t check all mirrors properly and or turn their heads to check for motorcyclist because they only look for other vehicles that they are used to seeing daily. When this happens they usually jump into lanes and cut motorcyclist off before seeing them which usually result in accidents and deaths. The last
