Lessons from the Culture Every year we see family emigrate to other countries, and they face many challenges. The stories “Sweet, Sour, and Resentful”, by Firoozeh Dumas, and from “Fish Cheeks”, by Amy Tan, share similar cultures and really interesting stories. Also, both families from the essay share several challenges that they are face when they move to the United States of America. The two families share many similarities; however, they differ in to keeping their culture, showing openness, and teaching a lesson from their culture to others.
Smart People is a contemporary play by Lydia R. Diamond that is set in Harvard University. It is directed by Chuck Smith. The play circulates around the lives of four racially diverse characters: Brian White, a cynical Harvard professor specializing in neuropsychiatry; Jackson Moore, a hot-headed surgical intern at Harvard Medical school; Ginny Yang, a shopaholic Harvard psychology professor; and Valerie Johnston, a tenacious actress and part-time research assistant. Obviously, all of the characters are intellectuals who deal with racial issues and quarrelsome romantic relationships. In taking the 360o Refined Self-Assessment I have learned my five highest leadership skills are: communication, outcome concern, information sharing, credibility, and decision fairness. My five highest rated behaviors are: communication, communication, communication, outcome concern, and outcome concern. I agree that I do well in communication. Moreover, I feel information sharing is part of a sound communication platform.
The poem “One Boy Told Me” by Naomi Shihab Nye, was told by her son when he was two and three years of age. His comments, thoughts, and remarks were jotted down verbatim by Naomi and pieced together to create the one of a kind free verse poem. Nye assembled the phrases into individual stanza’s where they coherently flow to one another to illustrate the mind of a toddler. Wide ranges of emotions and personalities invoke the inner child and their curiosity. Overall, her son’s interpretations of his surroundings and understandings are represented in how the idioms expressed set the stage for intrusiveness, humor, and poetic devices to contribute to the overall meaning.
Influence Through Example Throughout life people can come and go, but their influence never leaves; it becomes a part of a person. A person’s character is basically a collage of all the different people that they encounter during their lifetime. Each individual piece of the collage represents how someone influenced that single person. The best way to be a good piece of that collage is by setting a good example through actions and behavior.
I have chosen to write a review of the movie “I am Sam” because it is a powerful, emotional film about love, the family bonds, and parenting challenges. The main character, Sam, lived in Los Angeles, CA in the 1990s. Sam has the mental capacity of seven years old, he works at Starbucks and has a daughter with a homeless woman who abandoned them after she gave birth to his daughter. Sam is an avid Beatles fan and named his daughter Lucy Diamond after the Beatles song. Sam’s mental impairments are autistic tendencies and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

In the story “Just Be Yourself,” Stephanie tried to fit in by belonging to clubs, ignoring her dreams, and sitting in solitude.
In this part I will review myself, about what have I done and what can I do, so I can be closer to my vision. As I have mentioned in my current situations I have strength, weaknesses, opportunity and threats. My strategy is that I want to maintain my strength, overcome my weaknesses and threats and take advantage of the opportunity. My strengths are my calm and observant personality.
