Demographic/Social History Amelia Mikaelson is a 20 year old female who has been found guilty of two counts of first degree murder. Both her are alive, but her father was abusive towards her and her mother. She has no siblings and her grandparents live 7 hours away; other than her grandparents Amelia has no other connections to family. Amelia’s mother works as a cardio surgeon at the general hospital, and her father worked as a police officer in the major crimes unit. Due to their demanding jobs both parents would rarely be home, due to this fact they decided to buy Amelia a dog when she was 5 and started leaving her home alone when she was 7 years old. When Amelia was 12 her parents got divorced, and both parents had shared custody of her. Amelia lived with her mother, but her father had permission to see her 2 weekends out of each month. Furthermore, she continued to destroy property and took pleasure in hurting others with little to no remorse.
Procriminal Attitudes Amelia was smart, but she had a problem with authority therefore, she had no respect for her parents or her teachers. Because of her lack of respect for authority she would align herself with individuals that also disrespect authority. When she was in elementary and junior high she would play with the bullies who enjoyed inflicting pain on others, she would enjoy watch the kids cry. When she was in high school she aligned herself with drug addicts and violent teenagers who would skip class and pick fights with others. Amelia would fit in with the misfits because regardless of how violent she might be, her peers would cheer her on and support her. Since her grades were nearly perfect she had time to create her “bad girl” image knowing her parents could not say anything about it.
