Just like the choice people on making about relationships, childbearing, contraception, and procreation, they are protected by the American constitution. Issues of marriage provide a chance for people to make their individual decisions. There is a contentious issue in the constitution of the US in regards to marriage. Marriages between people of the same sex should be amended to only permit marriage between men and women. God ordained marriage, and in the era of human rights, this institution should not be polarized by allowing marriage to exist between people of the same sex. According to the Bible, marriage was ordained by God as a lifelong union between a male a female to procreate and live together. This biblical perspective has been polarized by the current law that gives people freedom for marriage. The Quran is of a similar opinion as it condemns same-sex marriage by supporting marriage between a male a female. On this ground of religion, the amendment is, therefore, necessary since the two religious books are often used in a court of law to swear. By changing the issues on marriage as a doctrine that is important in the development of societies, it contravenes the natural laws of nature which only recognizes male and female. It additionally jeopardizes family unions and societal expectations. In the constitutional rights have limits, and this is a provision in the constitution in which such limits should be exercised. The issue of same-sex marriage is, therefore, a fallacy because polygamy marriage is illegal. In this regard, the provision portrays a matter of double standards. The provisions of the constitutions should not appear to favor one side at the expense of the other. The constitution additionally has less or is rather silent when the issue of marriage is raised.
