Depending on the individual's spirit and how strong they can hold on to sticking to their ideology and belief. In the novel 1984 by George Orwell, the protagonist, Winston Smith, becomes rebellious against the Party to get closer to achieving his longing to be free from the society of Oceania. In 1984, George Orwell suggested that threatening forces provoke the limitation of the human spirit to fight back to take hold of love, privacy, and friendship, then leads them to act the opposite of what the threat force expects them to take action, in other words, rebel, even if it leads to death. George Orwell's main character lives in Airstrip One, Oceania, also known as England, London in modern day. In the City of Airstrip One, Oceania, many organizations are being managed by the Inner Party. For instance, one of them is the Junior Anti-Sex League, whose primary focus and objective are to push the restraint meant for both sexes in the City, where "All children were to be begotten by artificial insemination (arts, it was called in Newspeak) and brought up in public institutions" (69) Winston express as he was aware of this organization but not understanding it, yet sense the Party's general ideology. Another one would also be the Junior Spies, where the members are young ones that spies amongst their parents in their household for the Party and the Party's purpose of marriage was to "beget children for the service of the Party" (68), and use the young kids, the new generation, to come up with a plan that affection towards another is a "slightly disgusting minor operation."
