Introduction
Bosnia-Herzegovina used to be part of Yugoslavia a country in the Balkans, which also included Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro. This was an extremely diverse country when it came to religion and ideology. The majority of people living in Bosnia were ethnic Christian Bosnians, but there were also Bosnian Serbs and Bosnian Croats who were also Christian, and also some Bosnian Muslims known as Bosniaks. In 1991 Yugoslavia started falling apart; the troubles lasted until 1995 although the country is still recovering from the aftermath of the war.

1992
February 29th until March 1st - Bosnia's Muslims and Croatians vote for independence from Serbia

January - Bosniaks and Croatians (who were originally allied together against Serbia) start fighting over the 30% of Bosnia that hasn’t been taken over by Serbs
April - Sarajevo, Bihac, Gorazde, Tuzla, Zepa and Srebrenica are the 6 safe zones created for Bosniaks by the United Nations
1994
March 18th - Bosniaks and Croatians make an agreement to end war thus influenced by the US; creating a Muslim-Croat Federations
1995
January 1st - Jimmy Carter (former US president) negotiated a peace agreement between Bosniaks and Bosnian-Serbs; order lasted for around 4 months
May 24th - NATO launched an air attack on Serbian military resources as a result of their decline to remove their heavy weapons from Sarajevo, as revenge the Serbians attack the Bosniaks safe zone assigned by the United Nations July 11th - Serbians take over Srebrenica and approximately 8000 men and boys were killed by order of General Ratko Mladic
July - General Ratko Mladic was charged by the UN's board of War Crimes for Genocide based on the siege of Sarajevo
July 25th - Serbians conquer Zepa
August 30th - Airstrikes by NATO upon Serbs in Sarajevo region
November 21st - Leaders of Croatia, Bosnia and Serbia agree to the peace treaty designed by the US in Dayton, …show more content…

The uncertainty was hard, especially in Srebrenica where numerous mass-graves were dug up and burnt in order to hide any evidence of the killings.
