Introduction The uncertainty created in Europe by the First World War (1914-18) set the stage for another international conflict- World War II- which broke out two decades later and would prove even more devastating. Increasing power in an economically and politically unstable German, Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party rearmed the nation and signed strategic treaties with Italy and Japan to promote to his ambitions of World domination. Hitler’s invasion of Poland in September 1, 1939 push Great Britain and France to declare war on Germany, and World War II began. The conflict took more lives and destroys more land and property than previous wars. Among the 45-60 million, 6 million were Jews as part of Hitler’s devilish “Final Solution”. The main reason was the attack on Pearl Harbor. “America was not plagued into the war as a combatant until the Japanese attacked on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941” . Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was the main reason of America’s involvement in the war. It was one year earlier when we announced that we would give Britain all the aid we could. Harry also said, we were ready to enter into the war against Germany by adapting selective conscription, ordering a two-ocean navy and appropriate thirteen billion dollars to finance our defense efforts. In March 1941, the Lend Lease Bill pledged us to supply the materials of war to Britain. In order to insure delivery of the supplies we established our own military forces across the Atlantic with orders to keep Germany submarines from sinking ships carrying supplies to Britain.
