Thesis: The death penalty is a fair form of punishment and should be allowed in all states.
There are extreme regulations that have to be met for the death penalty to be assigned. In countries that institute the death penalty as a form of punishment, it is never given for small cases or even just murder. According to the article, “Arguments in Favour of Capital Punishment”, criminals will not be given an unusual or cruel punishment because it would not make sense to give a huge punishment to a small crime (“Arguments” 1). The punishment should align with the crime so that both sides of the party feel satisfied. Furthermore, the criminal will not get an easy punishment for committing a horrendous crime because it is not fair to the victim if the criminals consequence is small

According to Camille Phillips, death penalties aren’t given to regular cases. In one case, a 300 pound man who was around 6’6” killed his girlfriend and a two year old little girl and started to gut them. (Phillips 1). Not only did the man just murder two innocent people but in addition, he gutted them after he was done killing them. The death penalty was put in place for this case because the man did more than just murder someone. Capital punishment was fair in this event because a life sentence was not enough. The death penalty meets the requirements for the cases that need it, and it also lowers crime rate. In countries, such as the USA, China, and Iran, that maintain the death penalty as a form of punishment, crimes have declined throughout the years. Serial killers usually like to kill other people
