The speaker in this sight passage is Daisy Buchanan, but is told by Nick Carraway, the non-peripheral narrator. Daisy’s perspective is important because she is torn between choosing the two men she has grown to fall in love with. This passage of her expressing her feelings reveals she did love Tom and also Gatsby. Nicks perspective is important when examining this sight passage because he is honest and gives an accurate and genuine idea of what happened.
