A tangerine is commonly known as a small citrus fruit grown in parts of the U.S,Tangerine is also a name of county in Florida,and The novel written by Edward Bloor titled “Tangerine”.
In the novel written by Edward Bloor The protagonist,Paul Fisher known as “The eclipse boy” and “Mars”.This unordinary boy must endure tons of natural disasters in Tangerine County living in a mysterious county such as this one,is a struggle for the protagonist,Paul Fisher because he is getting judged about his glasses and his eyesight so he can no longer play his favorite sport also because he had to leave behind his home in Texas all because of his rude brother Erik Fisher and his “Erik Fisher Football Dream”.Imagine living …show more content…

This quoted evidence illustrates the struggle paul went through to play soccer because of his visual impairment.In the novel Paul must leave Lake windsor Middle school because of its sinkholes.this act forces paul to move to a new school named Tangerine Middle School. Paul believes his eyesight is good but no one else believes him and that makes it a bigger struggle for Paul more than it already is.However Paul joins another soccer team.”Mrs.bright,this is Paul Fisher from Lake Windsor Middle School.He wants to play on your soccer team.”(103).This quote reveals even though Paul was visually handicapped he was still able to find a way to play soccer. This is really important toward the theme because people become limited on what they can and cannot do when it comes to a handicapped person and everyone should be treated the same.
Tangerine by Edward Bloor is a novel that would receive a rating of 7 I didn't give a score of 10 because the book overdoses and sibling conflict and soccer from beginning to end. However I did enjoy how the author described Paul Fisher as to being easy going and open minded even though everyone else wanted to limit him on what he could and could not do according
