Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (Ishiro Honda, 1964) 1964 was the year that Toho decided to shift the kaiju genre 's focus from adults to children, stripping the films from much of their depth and largely turning them into wrestling matches among actors with monster suits. This particularly film though, remains one of the best entries in the category, particularly due to its cast that featured Takashi Shimura, who played in Akira Kurosawa 's "Ikiru" and Eiji Okada, from Hiroshi Teshigahara 's "Woman in the Dunes". This time the plot involves Princess Selina, who is saved from an assassination attempt by police detective Shindo. The Princess also prophecies disasters to come, which after a while become true, as a meteorite that had previously crashed on Earth, is revealed to be an egg that hatches into King Ghidorah.

The movie starts with an old woman telling her granddaughter a story about a boy named Edward who has scissors for hands. His childhood was sad because he was made by a creator that died when he was very young therefore he grew up alone When he gets older, an older woman finds him and welcomes him to her home where her family of four happily reside. Later on he starts developing feeling for her daughter who is approximately his age even though she was afraid of him in the beginning.
Individualism is consistently a difficult challenge to achieve. In the movie Edward Scissorhand, by Tim Burton, the author demonstrates society’s impact on personalities, aiming to normalize everyone. First, Kim shows her gradual affection for Edward through the plot, however, repeatedly feels pressured to love Jim and second, Edward’s physical and mental outlook is changed by his new neighbours in society to fit in better. In communities, society pressures each civilian to follow an expected norm.

Through color contrast and physically abnormal characters, Burton displays in his films that society wrongly teaches people to fear the unknown. Throughout the development of one’s life, it is imperative that individuals are exposed to new experiences so that they may learn and adapt through the act of self reflection. In the film Edward Scissorhands, directed by Tim Burton, it is evident that Edward Scissorhands lacks the experience of human contact and acceptance throughout childhood. This is displayed when he attempts to combat and overcome his isolation by exploring new emotions and by bringing forth his differences to the conformed town. Edward ultimately comes to terms with his diversity which becomes influential to others as his differences allow others to find their own individuality. Many people believe that Tim Burton is the most unique director of our time. By using cinematic techniques he points out the isolated character in the movie and shows how different they are than everyone else. Although it is consistent that these protagonist characters never fit in, what does vary is their desire to do so and many people argue that this reflects Burton himself. In Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Edward Scissor Hands directed by Tim Burton, the use of a wishful protagonist and exaggerated characters conveys that no one should change who you are to meet society's expectations.

These three techniques are used numerous of times for the duration of each film. Although, many various emotions are constructed, there are feelings that anyone may connect to. Tim Burton is a successful filmmaker and has inspired many with the use of his cinematic techniques.

In a flashback, the camera moves with the inventor, who made Edward, as he takes Edward's hands out of a box and walks over to Edward before he dies, without getting to put Edward's real hands on.

These techniques that can be seen in the films Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Edward Scissorhands, and Corpse Bride, create the effects of sadness, dark moments, express the feeling of other without telling. He uses Non-Diegetic sound when he puts a song, he uses sad songs, happy songs, and more to show the feeling of the character, to give us like a hint of something that is going to happen, if it’s going to be bad or sad. He uses lighting to make the moment or scene sad or mysterious.
