In the magazine article, “Hula Girl” by Sarita Cupp readers can develop a better idea of hula dancing and how it takes hard work and teamwork to tell a tale through song and dance. Hula dancers train very hard physically and mentally to make the lyrics and dance moves sound and look smooth and graceful. While they are dancing they must concentrate on the other dancers so their dance moves and voices are the same and in sync. Most importantly, the history of Hula, which is still used today, comes from Hawaiian mythology where Hula dancing expressed stories, poetry, and scenes from nature. Therefore, Hula girls must be able to work hard, perform together, and tell stories using lyrics and dance moves.
