Assessment for Sarah’s Key Sarah’s Key, written by Tatiana De Rosnay, is a very unique book based loosely on a true story. Sarah, the main character in this book, is a little girl; in her preteens. Sarah at the beginning was very innocent, just as most little girls are.
Throughout the story “In the silence” by Peggy S. Curry the protagonist; Jimmy is on a rollercoaster of emotions. At the beginning of the story, Jimmy is depressed and homesick because of his interactions with Angus Duncan. Although as he would finger is brooch he would remember home, this made him happier. When Angus sent Jimmy into “the silence” he was scared, scared of all the dangers around him. After a few nights “in the silence” he had already lost two of his sheep, one was killed when trampled by a horse, and another was dropped and killed by a sheep, he was worried about what Angus’ reaction would be along with the sheep’s safety in jeopardy.
“SO I AINT NO GOOD GIRL” In this story “SO I AINT NO GOOD GIRL”, written by Sharon Flake, I felt that the author really made the characters realistic and normal.
Anna depicted herself as Independent woman, she was the frequent subject of gossip in Germany due to her indecent attire, flirtatious behavior and rebellious acts. After the discovery of Anna 's secret affairs with an nobleman and cavalryman (Erasmus of Limpurg and Daniel Treutwein), her wealthy father out of rage ban her from the household and abolished her inheritances. Anna then files a suit on her father but when she sued him for financial support, he had her captured, returned home and chained to a table as punishment. Anna eventually escaped and continued her suit against her father, siblings and her home town.
In the 1800s competition between industries drove industrial growth. One of the first trust was made by John D. Rockefeller, for oil. In a trust, owners of competing companies give their stock to a committee and they control it. The committee operates all the companies together as one and pays the stockholders, this way there is no competition between businesses to drive down prices. Standard oil led to these trust, and eventually a bunch of different trust were created like sugar trust, steel trust and whiskey trust.

Written in the first-person narrative that takes place in the distant future, Casil weaves a terrifying story of genetic alteration to “fix” our children’s flaws. What harm can it cause if gene therapy is performed as an elective procedure rather than medical necessity? Gary and Carolyn, expecting parents, find out their little boy will need gene therapy while still in the womb if they hope to spare him from a fatal heart condition.
All Sarah ’s life she was taught that slaves are not equal to whites, but she still fought for them. She stood up to anyone that was against her even her family. Sarah went out way of her and sacrificed things to save others. Throughout the novel courage helps the characters get through difficult situations.

For example in the article “When Fans go wild” By: Jennifer Dignan the author states that there was at least 50 offices outside his hotel. “At least 50 officers were brought into control the crowd.” (Jennifer dognan). This relates Justin Beiber and the Beatles because they both had to have law enforcements to control their fans.

Girl, Interrupted, written by Susanna Kaysen in 1967, is a thought provoking memoir following her and fellow parents’ tragic and twisted experiences in McLean Mental Hospital. As a young adult Susanna Kaysen tried to commit suicide by swallowing a bottle of pills and following it with a bottle of alcohol. Her parents were very worried about her and suggested her to go to a doctor that her dad once knew. Kaysen visited the doctor who, after talking to her for a while, requested that she be sent to one of the best mental hospitals in her area. She had been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder.
The novel Speak, by Laurie Halse Anderson, is about a girl named Melinda, who shows signs of depression throughout the story. She has no friends and is hated by people she doesn’t even know. This is because she called the cops at a party, where she was raped. Anderson includes literary elements to show how Melinda is depressed. Throughout the novel, she uses many different literary elements to show Melinda’s conflict.

While reading the story, you can tell in the narrators’ tone that she feels rejected and excluded. She is not happy and I’m sure, just like her family, she wonders “why her?” She is rejected and never accepted for who she really is. She is different. She’s not like anyone else
In “I Lost My Talk” by Rita Joe, the poem describes how her experiences at a Residential School attribute to her identity and empowerment through poetry that uses symbolism, imagery, and visual mental images to illustrate themes, white dominance, and empowerment. The poem is written in the point of view of an indigenous woman born in the time during the residential school crisis. This was a time when genocide was taking place, mothers separated from their children. Kids were segregated like it was 1957, in other words, the white 's were in their own educational system and the indigenous were forcefully put in schools to be assimilated of their raising. To be assimilated is to strenuously forget about your history, culture, language, and traditions.
