Is gaining power always worth for the toll it takes? It could cost something greater in the future. Macbeth was a play by William Shakespeare to pay tribute to King James I after his attempted assignation. The play takes place in Scotland during a violent time about the Macbeth tragedy of ambition. Macbeth, a play written by William Shakespeare, describes Lady Macbeth’s traits as manipulative, guilt, and regretful in order to reveal that one’s ambition can lead to their downfall. Macbeth plans on finishing him, but begins having second thought while lady would do it if; “had he not resembled my father as he slept, I had done’t” (II.ii.12-13). The spot represents the sins and tries to wash them away. It represents the regret she has for in acting the murder.
