However, the mental damage inflicted on her by the white men in their yellow truck was still fresh in her mind. When she closed her eyes, she could picture nothing but their silhouettes standing over her bounded body doing unspeakable acts. Tonya could only pray and let her mind wander, would she be ok?

The author has stated that executions are a good example of how norms and policies are used for the purposes of punishing and controlling the people of color For instance, he argues that one in three black people are expected to be sent to jail in their lifetime. Further on, eighty percent of people on death row are black while 65 percent of homicide victims are black.
Risk/need/ responsivity and criminogenic needs is a model developed to create intervention programs for offenders. The risk level is based on the risk factors that contribute to an offender who can possibly re-offend. For high risk offenders an intensive intervention treatment would be put in place to lower the risk or to completely eliminate the risk altogether. Low risk offenders in most case will not get any treatment because the risk level to re-offend is very low, but resource will always be available if needed per request. In Sally’s’ case; her criminogenic needs would be to first address the fact that her boyfriend is an abuser that is struggling financially with her and often encourages her to drink, she has no family or community
Introduction and Summary: Chapter 11 focuses on the individuals with mental illness and the criminal justice system. Every year there are hundreds of thousands of individuals with mental illness who are arrested. The past decade a lot of the state hospital and mental health facilities have been shut down for lack of funding. Many of the seriously mentally ill are roaming the streets. The serious mental illness regarding this chapter would include schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and severe depression.
This novel highlights the fact of the injustices people of color are faced with in everyday life. In the introduction of this book, Michelle Alexander highlights the criminal justice system and how rather than identifying people by their race, people of color are labeled as criminals. I believe the criminal justice system, racial caste, ideology, and global examples of racial caste are all connected to racial inequality. I feel that the race and criminal justice system are connected on the basis that people of color are seen as unequal when compared to Caucasians. In the reading the author provides good examples of how officers are well trained at defending against claims of racial bias in policing.
Martin Luther was an Augustinian monk who had a spiritual crisis. He deeply wanted to be a good person, but he saw that there was so much corruption in the church. He saw that the priests were doing many immoral things. The priests created something called indulgences where it was stated that anyone could be absolved of their sins by paying money. They would then make multiple offices and continue this scam so that they would get more money from people.
A police officer is an employee of the government who has been given the duty to enforce the law by maintaining order and arresting lawbreakers. If I were to go into law enforcement then I would like to be the Social Agent, since the major duty of the police is to serve and protect the public; hence, I would be willing to combine with other typologies (Patterson, 2014). There are arguably many themes in the book Just Mercy. The author and/or the protagonist, Bryan Stevenson, shows perseverance through his work-packed life, possibly the book is telling people to push through for a good outcome. Other parts of the book focus on racial issues of the south, maybe the theme is about the indifferences for minorities. Some chapters elaborate on the lives of wrongfully imprisoned people, or people under cruel and unusual punishment. The book's theme could be the mistreatment of prisoners.
When police searched Aaron’s house back in June 2013 they found that Aaron was in possession of two firearms but did not have the proper license to carry around a guns. He was then charged with two account of possession of firearms without a Firearm Identification card. Aaron was also charged with carrying a firearm without a license. Aaron was charged with one of the highest felony charge, which was first-degree murder. First-degree murder is when the crime is committed willingly and it was planned out.

From series such as Dahmer, to Amanda Knox, services have been pumping out true crime content as though there is no other genre. This social adoration can trace its roots back to Truman Capote’s “In Cold Blood '', this groundbreaking novel was not the first of its kind, but rather was the first to gain mass attention. Using real life events with a fictionalised narrative, Truman Capote fluffed up the murder of the Clutter family to serial acclaim.
