Ode To Dirt Analysis Essay Everyone doesn’t pay attention to the little things. People don’t realize how much meaning that something little can mean. An example is an atom , something that the human eye can’t see but everything is made out of. In the poem, “Ode To Dirt '' by Sharon Olds gives dirt attention and tells what it does. She describes dirt with so much meaning and asks for forgiveness for not appreciating it. The author’s meaning about the poem is appreciating nature. An example of giving something a lot of meaning is the book, “A Raisin In The Sun '' by Lorraine Hansberry. In the book there is a plant. The plant has so much meaning to the grandmother in the story because she always wanted to have a garden when she owned a house. Everyone doesn’t know why she liked the plant so much and gave it so much care. In reality the plant held a lot of importance due to the fact that it was the closest thing to her dream. The plant was something that wasn’t huge or brought anyones attention , meaning it was a dream and remembrance of that dream.
