The statue is more than half the size of Yuny back in real life. The statue which is carved out of Limestone was found in the tomb of Yuny’s father, Amenhotep. There was at least two generations found within the single tomb. The height of the statue is 84.5 centimeters and it was consisted in the nineteenth dynasty. The statue represents Yuny seated next to his wife Renenutet.

For example, in a picture labeled “Sakyamuni (Buddha) Cutting His Hair” created during the Tang dynasty depicted a man in Chinese clothing with Chinese people around him in an environment full of mountains and trees that is usually favored by Chinese artists (Doc 3). The man represents Buddha if Buddha was a Chinese person, when he is actually an Indian prince who is named Siddhartha Gautama. The purpose of this painting was to show how Chinese artists blended Chinese culture with Buddhism in paintings to show how Buddha would be like if Buddha was a Chinese person. Another example is the Leshan Giant Buddha statue which is a statue that is 233 feet tall which is built during the Tang dynasty (Doc.4). Surrounding the statue of Buddha was statues of Chinese generals that were to “protect” the statue.

Daoism is often interpreted as a person living a simply, honestly, and in harmony with nature. Along the River During the Qingming Festival captures the daily life of people from the Song period at the capital, Bianjing, today’s Kaifeng in Henan. Introduction to Theme A theme is a meaning that goes beyond the plot, something less about events and more about significance, and it allows people to draw a conclusion from a book or story. The theme I will be focusing on is Monsters, which seeks to identify key data connected to the stories of monsters to identify characteristics of a monster within Greek myth. Monsters in Greek myth are often uncivilized, meaning that they exude behaviors which are savage and inappropriate. Monsters which are uncivilized are present in The Essential Homer, but I will specifically be focusing on uncivilized monsters in “Book 9” of The Odyssey.

Yet the vast majority of its bestiary depictions were not of large, scaly beasts breathing fire as we are so familiar with. For instance, “The Emperor’s New Clothes” is a very famous folk tale about an Emperor who gets tricked into purchasing an invisible outfit because of his selfishness and pride. The Emperor also goes out in public “wearing” that outfit and, in result, embarrassed himself in front of his whole kingdom. To most people, this may seem like a worthless, little story; however, that is because most people nowadays never seem to look for more treasure or dig any deeper than what is on the surface.
