In the excerpt of the story, Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, written by Jonathan Edwards, this author thinks that all men are bound for hell unless they are “born again”. He also shows that both he and God have a negative view of mankind. Finally, his writing shows that the author has a strong devotion and fear of God. While the author portrays God as the almighty with hate towards those who are not born again, I believe the Author is incorrect and has a very narrow view of God that can’t embrace all people and all religions. I have noticed that his outlook on God is very negative, and cold-hearted towards the people who are not born again. I see God as many different Gods, all representing different parts of the world. The way I see “God” is an open-minded being who appreciates everyone for who they are, despite their differences. This contrasts the conservative and strict beliefs and opinions the puritan religion has identified with God. I totally disagree with the author’s religious viewpoint, In fact if I sitting, listening to one of his sermons, I would want to leave. In my opinion, I think the Pagan religion is the correct outlook on all religion, and frankly, all other religions other than Paganism are wrong.
